New Free On-Demand CLE Now Available

The Mississippi Bar has released a new package of on-demand CLE available at no charge to all members. The initial sessions are available now and additional sessions will be added. You will receive links to each CLE via email after you register HERE. Topics include:

Family Law Section “23rd Annual Hot Tips Seminar” – April 19
Join the Mississippi Bar Family Law Section at its 23rd Annual “Hot Tips” Seminar on April 19 at The Mississippi Bar Center. The setting is relaxed and the topics engaging. This year, you will hear from several judges on a broad range of issues, as well as from Family Law “experts.” Once again the highly-successful format of 15-minute presentations, in order to remain fast-paced and informative, will be used. There will be opportunities for questions and discussion. Family Law practitioners or others interested in Family Law will want to be a part of this seminar. Labor and Employment Law Section CLE - April 24
Join The Mississippi Bar Labor and Employment Law Section for a Virtual CLE Seminar “Play Ball! Best Mediation Practices from Former Magistrate Judge Keith Ball” on April 24 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Former U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Ball will be presenting via Zoom. One hour of CLE credit will be offered for $25 to Labor and Employment Law Section members and for $50 to non-Section members. Bridge the Gap: Rule 3 New Lawyer Program (Part 2) in Jackson – April 26
The Young Lawyers Division of The Mississippi Bar is sponsoring the “Bridge the Gap: New Lawyer Program” on April 26, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at The Mississippi Bar Center in Jackson. The MS Commission on Continuing Legal Education requires each newly licensed lawyer to complete a new lawyer program comprised of a total of 6 hours of basic skills and 6 hours of ethics/professionalism within two years of admission. This program by Young Lawyers for Young Lawyers is modestly priced at $200 for 6 hours of CLE and will feature 3 hours of basic skills and 3 hours of ethics/professionalism. All attorneys are welcome to attend these CLEs, regardless of whether they are required to complete a new lawyer program. To register, log in through the ATTORNEY LOGIN on the Bar's homepage.

 

Child Welfare and Advocacy Section CLE – May 9
Join The Mississippi Bar Child Welfare and Child Advocacy Section for their “Spring Legislative Update” by Senator Brice Wiggins, Representative Angela Cockerham, and Commissioner Andrea Sanders of the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services on Thursday, May 9, from 9:00am - 12:00 p.m. at the Mississippi Supreme Court Gartin Justice Building and via Zoom. Business Law Section Spring 2024 Legislative Update CLE – May 10

Join The Mississippi Bar Business Law Section for a Spring 2024 Legislative Update CLE Seminar on Friday, May 10, from 9:00am – 12:00pm at The Mississippi Bar Center in Jackson. Presenters for the CLE include Representative Lee Yancey, and representatives from the Governor’s and Lieutenant Governor’s Offices. Estates & Trusts and Taxation Sections Joint CLE – May 16
